I was commissioned by New York-based cannabis company Rolling J’s to design a variety of package design explorations. The client wanted to see approaches that celebrated their roots in Queens, which led me down paths of art deco, bodega, baseball, and subway system inspiration. These design explorations highlight the luxury and geometry of the deco movement, the hand-painted signage of corner stores throughout the city, the well-loved uniform and leather textures in baseball gear, and the train imagery that’s so ubiquitous with New York navigation. Explorations range from fun, bright colors to rich, indulgent tones to premium textures—all representing some of the best and most loved traditions of New York City.
