Fever-Tree is the world’s leading supplier of premium carbonated mixers for alcoholic spirits, with distribution to approximately 50 countries internationally.
The name of the brand is based on the Fever-Tree being the local name for the cinchona tree in which guanine is found. Tonic water will fluoresce under ultraviolet (UV) light, owing to the presence of quinine. In fact, the sensitivity of quinine to UV is such that it will appear visibly fluorescent in direct sunlight.
Youngsters nowadays are health conscious yet would still like to enjoy a good chat over at the local pub without the need of consuming alcohol. Mixers are growing in popularity, as consumers seek out drinks that offer flavour, refreshment and enjoyment. Mixers provide an experience that perhaps differs from what they would normally enjoy at home, helping licensees to meet consumer needs.
A key trend in the mixer market is the increasing shift in consumption towards “premium” products. When consumers choose a soft drink, they want something that matches their age and the rhythm of the social occasion.
The objective of this project is to create a playful limited edition packaging by utilizing the natural fluorescent properties of tonic water, for the adventurous who are seeking for excitement in their drinking experiences.
By applying a young design that is strong in character onto fluorescent paper, reflecting the fluorescent property of quinine, the packing turns into a trendy statement that speaks for itself.
