Awkward
RIGID PACKAGING DESIGN
Awkward is a survival kit for inevitably awkward situations. The kit provides three solutions to the issue at hand: bluetooth headphones to “tune it out”, a deck of cards to “play the field”, and an 8 ounce flask to “drink up”.
The items inside are identified by the color blue in the icongraphic illustrations to represent calmness and relief. They are clearly displayed on the back beneath cheeky copy.
When the package is opened, the annoyed facial expression of the exterior is replaced by a relieved three dimensional head. Awkward’s items are housed about the face according to the facial feature that item interacts with. The cards sit within the forehead – mind. The headphones rest about the head, covering the ears. The flask sits tucked within a smiling mouth.
