The brief for this project was to design a brand for a new South-African craft beer. This included the logo design, labels, secondary packaging and three promotional items.
The name I chose for this project is Bokmakierie. The concept of this name is derived from a story written by Ben Lindeman, Piet Kokkewiet Kokkewiet. The story is about a poor family that lost their father and husband and had to survive with the little they have been left with. In every difficult situation they come to find their selves in, there is someone or something helping them out. They called him Piet Kokkewiet. Piet Kokkewiet was the one that brought hope.
Bokmakierie’s goal is the same as Piet Kokkewiet from the story. This beer is aimed at people between 40 and 60 and have lived good but hard lives and like to relax and enjoy the little things.
