In every product category, individual brands are in constant competition. The majority of yarn and wool products are solely marketed based on the colour and texture. The unique branding of this project creates a visual element that immediately links the consumer to the product and separates itself from the average packaging. Playing off the idiom, “wolf in sheep’s clothing”, the brand name creates a visual identity and describes the product being displayed. Since both knitting and crochet are a regularity in my life, the idea for this project came from personal experience. When shopping for yarn and other supplies, I found there was a lack of personality in packaging. Therefore, the main goal of the project was to create a package that tied identity and character with functionality.
