Turnstyle donated graphic-design services for the Loyal Heights Elementary School stage production of Willy Wonka Junior. The PTA sponsored and staged the musical with the goal of exposing students to theater. The entire student body was invited to audition for the production and all who auditioned were cast in the musical.

The script (licensed by Music Theatre International) normally calls for just 30 parts, but by including every student who wanted to participate, the production boasted a cast of 183 students ages five thru eleven (45% of the student body.) When asked why he wanted to be involved in the show, first-grader Asher said,

“Because I thought it’d be really fun. I was right!”

The graphic identity for the show was based on a re-envision version of Willy Wonka candy packaging. Branded items produced by Turnstyle included a show logo, posters, programs, candy-bar wrappers, Golden Tickets, cast t-shirts, and various other props. The various materials and promotional items generated immense excitement in the school community and helped make the kids and attendees feel like they were participating in a real broadway production. The cast put on three shows, with total attendance topping 1400. Photography of the cast was donated by Seattle photographer Paul Edmundson.
