The Cornish Seaweed Company has phenomenal products – seaweed that’s hand harvested straight from the Cornish sea. Their packaging design had done well for them, but as they’ve grown and reached a wider audience they knew it was time for a brand refresh.
We wanted to celebrate the seaweed in all it’s glory and tell its story from sea to plate. Using watercolours we hand painted the seaweed to capture the movement and life of the seaweed in situ. The logo is clean and simple to work against the paintings but also to emphasise the simplicity of the product. We included a diving character to represent Tim and Caroline who get into their diving equipment and scour the seas for the best organic seaweed.
The packaging itself has a craft feel to mirror the hand foraged nature of the product and to let consumers know what type of product this is. Because seaweed is relatively new to the public and because the product itself is so important, the name of the product is very clean and obvious and the window shows exactly what you’re getting. This rebrand really tells the story of a wonderful Cornish company with big ambitions and a delicious, natural product.
