”On the border between North and South America the finest chillies from both continents are sourced and combined with fresh natural ingredients to produce Poncho Picante premium hot sauce. Experience the matured flavours of artisanal prima salsa founded in Latin America.”
Picante is a Spanish adjective meaning “piquant”, which derives from “picar” (to sting), referring to the feeling caused by hot sauces on one’s tongue. Whilst looking at traditional clothing one particular garment stood out as relatively common throughout the different Latin American countries, the poncho. A poncho is an external garment designed to keep the body warm or, in some cases dry. Ponchos have been used since pre-Hispanic times and are now regarded as characteristically South American. From this information the name Poncho Picante was derived together with the brand story, and the concept of the poncho was further explored in terms of a packaging solution. The packaging design uses a poncho inspired box for housing the bottle. Essentially this is a fictitious conceptual design idea.
