PIDA- is a prestigious packaging design competition run in partnerships with universities in Sweden, Germany and France. This years brief was ”Breaking the code”. The challenging was to create a more youthful design to the more traditional champagne packaging. Molly Mellström and Mimmi Ericsson were awarded the first prize in the category “Best level of innovation”. The package holds four 20 ml bottles. We created the fictional sparkling wine label ”Gemla Vingård”. Moreover, users can transform the lid into an analouge speaker. Due to the shape of the box, sound waves bounce and increase volume. We thought this would attract our main target group, because what is a picnic without music.
