Concept
Hwatu, “Flower cards”, are traditional Korean playing cards.
The design concept for these cards is “The Earthly Branches of Korea”, which is the 12 Asian Zodiacs.
There are 4 sets of 12 cards with one animal on each 12 cards.
The packaging box is made of wood and paper, which accentuates the organic concept.
The wood-like textured paper comes with the title, which is letterpressed.
The cards are all made of wood with a branch-inspired pattern on the back of each card, which is laser-cut.
The front side of the cards show an animal or plant that represents each zodiac.
Designed by: Jooin Shin, Korea.
