My contribution to the design competition PIDA 2014 where the challenge was to pack champagne in a new way for young adults.
Bubbly champagne is a unique limited edition kit that contains a bottle of champagne and three small bottles of bubble bath, lotion and peeling. It´s supposed to be a nice gift to pamper someone with, which gives a sense of luxury in everyday life. The name “BUBBLY” stands for both the bubble´s in the champagne and for the skin care products. I think that in today’s society, we stress too much and Bubbly might be a nice gift to give someone who needs a moment to her self and just relax. So with this kit it´s time to sit back in the bath, with a glass of champagne and just relax! Bubbly’s target group is women age 20-30 years. I wanted a female target group since it´s not so common that women buy champagne. But Bubbly is going to change that. The idea is that they buy this kit as present to give to their friend.
I have worked with a hexagonal packing. I did a hexagonal package because I wanted to do something different to the ones that exist today. In this way the product Bubbly will be seen from many different angles in the store. This product also has a slightly different opening shaped as a flower that opens with a piece of string sticking out. This string is a bath lily belonging to the kit.
I have chosen to work with pink bubbles in the visual expression to symbolize the bubbles in the drink but also in skin care products. The package has a front and a back, which contains the information about the products, and the other sides I left pretty clean with the bubbles blossom up towards the top. I want Bubbly to stand out in the shelf and don´t feel so luxury and expensive. So the main target is that this package will provide a cheerful impression, stand out on the store shelf and spread the bubbly joy!
